Marauders Topple Tornadoes with Late Rally
|
Jean-Claude Petit added some punch to the Maple offense, helping them outmuscle the Kansas City Tornadoes, 8-7. In the game, Petit, who is tied for 6th in the TML in triples with 4, went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Maple reliever Maulik Shaw picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Michael Burton was saddled with the loss. Adrien Clément closed it out for his 14th save.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With no one out, Terry Pulh Jr. hit a 2-1 fastball from Michael Burton for a solo home run. It put Maple in front, 8-7.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Maple manager Arinori Nakamura.
Maple is 4th in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division with a record of 35-33.
