Codebreakers Rally For Late Win Over Danger
|
The Duke City Danger got a superb performance from pitcher Ángel Ruíz, but the Columbus Codebreakers still won the game, 7-3. Ruíz was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Artie Ehlers picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Carlos Núñes was tagged with the loss. The second-place Codebreakers have won 4 in a row.
Had it not been for Run-ming Wu, the results might have been different. In the top of the ninth inning, when the Codebreakers were trailing 3-1, Wu hit a 3-run home run for Columbus, giving his team the lead.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Wu. "Everyone's feeling pretty positive after that win."
