Late Magic Gets Jersey 2-1 Win
|
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter Joe Good, falling 2-1 to the Jersey Jesters at Field de Los Layendas. Ron Anderson was credited with the save for Jersey, his 14th of the season. Jersey is now 41-26, while Cabo San Lucas is 33-35.
Both teams had trouble scoring runs. So, Fernando Germán's at-bat in the top of the ninth was huge. With no one out, the Jersey left fielder hit a solo home run, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"The old adage is true," said Germán. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
