Victory Over Bombers Takes Maple to 98-63
|
The exploits of designated hitter George Soucy, who is tied for 3rd in the TML with a .929 OPS, helped the Maple Marauders defeat the South Carolina Bombers, 5-2. Soucy was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Adrien Clément earned his 40th save in 43 chances. Maple goes to 98-63. The win puts them 3 games up in their division.
Also making an impact was center fielder Don Orton, who drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning for the Marauders. For the game, Orton was 2-4 with a double.
"The division is still up for grabs, but I like our chances," Orton told the Maple Gazette.
