The Bloomington Blazers got a sterling performance from pitcher Lou Latulippe, but the Jesters still prevailed, 5-4. Latulippe was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings allowing 5 runs. Jersey reliever Su-gyung Park was the winner. His record is now 5-1. Lou Latulippe took the loss. The Blazers, now 55-106, have lost 5 straight.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Tim Thompson was at the plate when Jersey scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Jesters to go in front, 4-3.
"This team is headed in the right direction," said Thompson.
