Codebreakers Fall Short, 4-3, at Omaha
|
Frank Coleman knocked in all 4 runs for the Omaha Titans, helping them beat the Columbus Codebreakers, 4-3. Frank Perkins picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 2-2. Bill Daniels got the save, his 27th in 30 chances.
Coleman hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to help the Omaha cause. The home run, which was hit off Gabresilassie Cherono, allowed Omaha to take a 4-3 lead.
After the game, Omaha manager Bernard Jacq applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
Omaha has 3 straight wins, Columbus 3 straight losses.
