Bombers Rally For 9-8 Win
|
The South Carolina Bombers outlasted Dayne Reagan and the So Cal Republic, 9-8. Reagan was impressive in the loss. The So Cal second baseman went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. South Carolina is now 91-66.
Had Julián Martínez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Martínez hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Bombers.
"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Martínez, "but we really needed that win."
