Texans Topple Hitmen as Martínez Shines
|
Texans right fielder Juan Martínez put his stamp on his team's 7-1 win over the Chicago Hitmen. Martínez slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Dallas in the contest. Paul Johnston picked up the win with 8.1 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 15-13. Dallas is 67-91 and Chicago, with the loss, 72-86.
Martínez put Dallas up, 7-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Wing-chiu Zhou in the bottom of the seventh. His 22nd home run of the season helped the Texans capture the win.
"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Chicago skipper Steve Hansen. "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
