Havana Stogies starter John Stroud had all his pitches working at The Humidor. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-1 Havana win over the Brooklyn Black Knights. The Stogies, at 92-66, sit in first place in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.

Tied up with the Black Knights in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Stogies got a boost from right fielder Yasushi Kato. With a runner on 1st, Kato saw a 2-0 fastball from Roberto Valentín and hit a 2-run home run to break the stalemate and put Havana on top, 3-1.

Said losing manager Diego Aguirre: "Give the Stogies credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."
