Brad Lyons could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his New York Mafia lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Columbus Codebreakers at Central Park Downtown Stadium. The third-place Codebreakers now have a win-loss record of 84-72.

Steve McGowan delivered a big hit for the Codebreakers. The veteran right fielder belted a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. The longball put Columbus on top, 3-1. Overall, McGowan went 1-4 with a home run.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Columbus manager Julián Cancil.
