Patriots Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Manhattan Beach Patriots overcame a good performance by Minnesota third baseman Jim Burry to knock off Minnesota, 6-4, at The Frozen Tundra. Burry went 3-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. With the win, the Patriots have a record of 83-74.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out, Ed Greer hit a 1-0 fastball from Ti-an Dan for a 2-run single. It put Manhattan Beach in front, 6-4.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Minnesota manager Jerry Miller.
