Loss Extends San Diego Losing Streak
|
Las Vegas beat San Diego at The Ballpark at Potomac Yard , escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to right fielder Sean Brooks, who earned player of the game honors. He was 3-3 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. San Diego is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
Lorenzo Roux's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth inning was a big one for Las Vegas. Coming to bat with one out, a runner on 1st and Las Vegas trailing 6-5, the shortstop hit a run-scoring double.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Roux told the Las Vegas Chronicle. "You win just by scoring more runs."
