Mustangs Pick Up 5-2 Win
|
Mile High Mustangs starter Lorenzo Soto was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Eureka Hornets, 5-2. Soto went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-1. Kenkichi Kodo, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
With the bases empty and one out in the top of the fourth inning, designated hitter Ted Burbidge delivered big for the Mustangs. Mile High was leading 1-0 when he belted a solo home run.
"They played a better game than we did," said Eureka skipper Stephen Jackson.
Even with the win, the Mustangs have a dismal 22-45 record.
