Cabo San Lucas Toreros starter Rubén Cabrera turned in an exceptional performance against the San Francisco Earthquakes at Field de Los Layendas, resulting in a Cabo San Lucas win, 5-2. Cabo San Lucas reliever Mulia Kathirithamby got the win, raising his record to 8-7. Yoshiaga Rin was tagged with the loss. Cabo San Lucas is 79-75 and San Francisco, with the loss, 92-63.
Cabo San Lucas won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Yoshiaga Rin on the mound for San Francisco, center fielder Chun-yeong Kwon hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Toreros fans to their feet.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Cabo San Lucas manager José Núñez. "Our pregame was pretty good."
