Sasquatch Trip Hitmen in Extras
|
The Seattle Sasquatch faced a tough opponent in Chicago pitcher Ashwini Sapthotharan, but did just enough to pull out the victory at SouthSide Park by a final score of 4-3. Sapthotharan went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Seattle reliever Alejandro Lafrosia picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Gus Layar absorbed the loss. Kirk Redman earned the save for Seattle, his 2nd of the year.
This game was not decided until Matt Clark came to bat in the top of the 13th. With runners on 1st and 3rd and no one out, the Seattle catcher hit a sacrifice fly. The Sasquatch took the lead, 4-3.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Clark told the Seattle Herald.
The 4th-place Sasquatch improved to 77-78.
