Earthquakes Subdue Cabo San Lucas, 4-3
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes beat the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 4-3, at Field de Los Layendas. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Adam Kerr, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The second-place Earthquakes have won 4 consecutive games.
Kerr contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for San Francisco in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Kerr took a changeup from Phoenix Smith and stroked the home run to left. His 16th home run of the season allowed the Earthquakes to leap in front, 4-2.
"I like our moxie," said San Francisco Earthquakes manager Dan Thibodeaux.
