Beavers Best Bombers in Pitching Duel
|
Portland rode a good effort from starter Daryl Harrison to beat the South Carolina Bombers at Waterfront Park. The final score was 2-1. Toyotomi Nakano earned the save for Portland, his 32nd. The Beavers improved to 73-77.
Phillip Lewis contributed an important at-bat in the bottom of the second. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat that helped send Portland to the win.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Lewis told the Portland Daily.
