Tornadoes Fall to .500 After Loss to Jesters
|
Eugene Heady was instrumental in his team's 7-3 triumph over the Kansas City Tornadoes. The pinch hitter went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Jersey Jesters. The winner was Julián Diéguez in relief. His record improves to 1-2. José Rivera took the loss. After today's action, Jersey sits at 71-79, while Kansas City falls to 75-75.
Carlos Cantú drew 1 walk in 2 plate appearances for Jersey. The 30-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off José Rivera. It was his 33rd walk of the season.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Heady. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
