The Brooklyn Black Knights got a magnificent performance from pitcher Wilson Deleón, who stifled the So Cal offense en route to a 1-0 Black Knights win at Blue Ivy Stadium. The Republic, at 105-46, have lost 4 straight games.
Tony De La Garza said the idea of hitting a home run crossed his mind when he came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. De La Garza belted a solo home run to stake Brooklyn to a 1-0 lead. His 7th home run of the season came off So Cal pitcher Christian Wallace.
"Put a star next to this win," Deleón said.
