Beavers Fall to .500 After Loss to Toreros
|
Cabo San Lucas second baseman Eddy Carpentier made his presence felt in the 6-2 Toreros triumph over the Portland Beavers. Carpentier went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Bruce Lowe got the win, improving to 16-10. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 2. Lloyd Hunt notched his 4th save in 6 chances.
Carpentier came through for Cabo San Lucas with one out in the top of the second. With Cabo San Lucas tied 0-0, Carpentier hit a grand slam home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Toreros up, 4-0.
In comments to the Cabo San Lucas Daily News, Carpentier insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
The Toreros now have a record of 83-79 with the win over Portland.
