In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

Omaha had no answer for San Diego Hops hurler Salah bin Atif, who overwhelmed Titans hitters as the Hops coasted to a 7-1 victory. Today's win puts San Diego at 54-96, while Omaha falls to 50-99.

The Hops beat the Titans in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Ken Abbott produced in the top of the second. Batting against Omaha pitcher Tokutomi Nishida, Abbott gave his team a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Omaha manager Bernard Jacq.
