Eduardo López made an impact in the 8-3 Kansas City win over Maple. López was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Kulapati Pandian earned the save for Kansas City, his 6th. The third-place Tornadoes improved to 75-74.
Matt Winters's at-bat in the top of the seventh inning was a big one for Kansas City. Coming to bat with no one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Kansas City trailing 2-1, the left fielder hit a run-scoring double.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Winters said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
