Late Rally Gets Win for Stogies
|
The Havana Stogies bested the Manhattan Beach Patriots, 6-5, at Stars & Stripes Stadium. Reynaldo Aguilera was named player of the game. He was 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The save went to Teguh Suharto, his 12th this season. Havana, at 41-26, sits in first place in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
The outcome might have been different had it not been for Aguilera. In the top of the ninth inning, when the Stogies were trailing 4-3, Aguilera delivered a two-out 3-run home run for Havana, giving his team the lead.
"I like winning," Aguilera told the Havana Gazette. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
