Cavatta Slugs Marauders to 5-2 Win
|
The Maple Marauders defeated the Kansas City Tornadoes, 5-2, at Legends Park. Maple shortstop Federico Cavatta was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Landy Lu earned the win to go to 17-7. He allowed 1 earned run on 7 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts. Adrien Clément got the save, his 34th in 37 chances.
Sean Clare had a productive at-bat for the Marauders with two out in the bottom of the seventh. With the bases loaded, the catcher hit a 2-run single. The at-bat was important in the Maple win.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Maple manager Arinori Nakamura.
The winning continues for Maple, with the latest making it 7 straight.
