Fernando Germán had a good game, but he could not keep the Jersey Jesters from falling, 7-5, to the Georgia Grays at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards. The Jersey left fielder was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. John Jacobs was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 28 of 32 save opportunities. At 79-69, Georgia is in second place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division.
One of the clutch hits for Georgia came from one of their biggest talents. In the top of the seventh with one out, Abalendu Manglorkar, who is a four-time All-Star, hit a 2-run home run to put the Grays up, 6-5. For the game, the second baseman went 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We take it day by day here," said Manglorkar, "and today was a good one for us."
