Big Day for Takahashi: Swats 5 Hits
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Kawanari Takahashi today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at The Ballpark at Potomac Yard and paced the Gamblers to a 18-4 win over the New York Mafia.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Las Vegas center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Kawanari Takahashi doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th and singled in the 7th.

Takahashi is hitting .322 this year with 13 home runs and 45 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .415, 46 walks and scored 57 times.
