Mustangs Lose, 7-5, at The Nest

Mile High got a terrific performance from left fielder Eddy Jacobse, but it wasn't enough to beat the Eureka Hornets. Eureka won the The Nest contest, 7-5. Jacobse was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. The win was Elliott Rogers's in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Doyle Sullivan took the loss for Mile High. Andrés Nevárez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 26th save.
Had Ron Jeremy not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Jeremy hit a 2-run double. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Hornets.
"Some wins are easy, some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Jeremy told the Eureka Times.
Eureka bumps their record to 37-29 with the win.
