Republic Come Back Late, Nip Earthquakes
|
The So Cal Republic picked up a win at House of the Republic, knocking off the San Francisco Earthquakes, 4-3. On the mound for So Cal was left-hander Adhipa Vemireddy, who played a pivotal role in the win. Soleh Purbacaraka, credited with the win, is now 7-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The first-place Republic have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
Jong-min Kim Jr. provided some late-game heroics for So Cal. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a 2-2 curveball from Kalyanavarman Nagaraj and propelled So Cal to a 4-3 lead.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," San Francisco manager Dan Thibodeaux said following the tough loss.
