Bombers Lose to Hitmen, 3-1
|
The Chicago Hitmen and South Carolina Bombers played a tight game at SouthSide Park, with the hosts claiming the hard-fought win.
Ange Schmit pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The South Carolina Bombers, despite Schmit's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Chicago Hitmen at SouthSide Park. Naomi Gato picked up the save, his 3rd.
One of the clutch hits for Chicago came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with two out, Ka-fei Bi, who is tied for 3rd in the RCL with a .349 batting average, hit a run-scoring single to put the Hitmen up, 2-1. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Bi.
Chicago's record now stands at 68-76, placing them 5th in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.
