Sasquatch Fall Short, 5-4, at Maple
|
The Seattle Sasquatch and Maple Marauders provided some drama at Legends Park.
Maple beat Seattle, 5-4. The win in part was due to right fielder Terry Pulh Jr., who nabbed player of the game honors. He slugged 2 home runs. Héctor Zúñiga, credited with the win, is now 9-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings.
Maple took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, third baseman Dustin McMahon hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said McMahon.
At 87-57, the Marauders have a slim two-game lead in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
