Jesters Clip Toreros in Tight Contest
|
The exploits of second baseman Alan Bishop, who is on pace for 105 RBI this season, helped the Jersey Jesters defeat the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 4-2. Bishop was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Daryl Wyles was the winner. Over 7 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Ron Anderson locked down his 13th save.
Jersey took a 3-2 lead on Akio Ishii's 9th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Cabo San Lucas pitcher Phoenix Smith in the top of the eighth.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Ishii.
The Jesters are now 40-25, while the Toreros fall to 32-34.
