The Maple Marauders stymied the Seattle Sasquatch, 6-1, at Legends Park. Iván Zavala, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Maple. Maple reliever Tom Hanson picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-1. António Navarro was collared with the loss. The first-place Marauders raised their record to 85-57.
An important at-bat for Maple came with one out in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 1st, Zavala hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Marauders win.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Zavala told the Maple Gazette.
