Jesters Fall to Takahashi, Sasquatch
|
With third baseman Kazuyoshi Takahashi leading the charge, the Seattle Sasquatch defeated the Jersey Jesters, 5-2, at Sick's Stadium. Takahashi, who is tied for 6th in the RCL in extra base hits with 57, slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Seattle reliever Shi-xian Le picked up the win to move to 8-3. Alejandro García suffered the loss. At 69-72, Seattle is in 4th place in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.
Had Dani Sáenz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Sáenz hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Sasquatch.
Takahashi called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
