Right Fielder Barrett goes 4-for-4 in Win
|
The Georgia Grays defeated the Minnesota Berserkers, 11-7. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Jason Barrett, who was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Gabriel Núñez picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed 4 earned runs on 11 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 14-4. Georgia designated hitter Nick Holmes said he wanted to hit the ball hard when he batted in the top of the ninth. He not only hit it hard, he hit a fastball from Ti-an Dan deep for a grand slam home run. It resulted in a 10-7 lead for Georgia.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Davey Morris.
