Xian Lifts Saints to 10-8 Win
The Trois-Rivieres Saints beat the Calgary Outlaws, 10-8, at Blue Wings Ballpark. The Saints got a fine performance from center fielder Bing-de Xian, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Joël Meyer, the winner, improved to 5-2. He held the Outlaws to 0 runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The Saints own a robust 37-19 mark.

With Trois-Rivieres leading 6-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Xian hit a 2-run home run off Calgary hurler Philippe Méry. It was the 16th home run of the season for Xian and put his team ahead, 8-2.

"We're in the driver's seat," said Xian. "I like our chances."
