Not everyone stuck through the 58-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

A 7-RBI performance from Jean Bernard helped the Calgary Outlaws beat the Niagara Stars, 12-7. Calgary reliever Adam Short picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Bill Pearcey was saddled with the loss.

Corey Goyette had a nice at-bat for the Outlaws with one out in the bottom of the third. With the bases loaded, the second baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run, which would prove important in the Calgary win.

"The beers will taste better tonight after this win," said the ever-candid Bernard.

Calgary bumps their record to 22-29 with the win.
