Monarchs Go Down to Defeat, 9-7
|
The Victoria Capitals picked up a win at Ballpark of Chilliwack College, knocking off the London Monarchs, 9-7. On the mound for Victoria was right-hander Jonathan Maillot, who played a pivotal role in the win. Victoria's record now stands at 22-29, placing them third in the Lester B. Person League West Division.
Going deep for Victoria was Kevin Rivière. The catcher had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth for the Capitals. It put his team ahead, 3-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Rivière was 2-3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Maillot.
