Despite a fine performance by first baseman Marcus Trottier, the Kelowna Heat suffered a 9-8 loss to the Trois-Rivieres Saints. Trottier was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. San-pao Kim picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Jim Unknown was tagged with the loss. At 31-16, the Saints have a slim two-game lead in the Lester B. Person League East Division.

Trois-Rivieres took a 9-6 lead on Bing-de Xian's 11th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Kelowna pitcher Jim Unknown in the bottom of the eighth.

Xian said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a pretty good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
