Capitals Bump Off Royales, 6-4
|
The Victoria Capitals beat the Montreal Royales, 6-4, at Ballpark of Chilliwack College. Victoria designated hitter Augustin Connors earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Victoria's record now stands at 19-27, placing them last in the Lester B. Person League West Division.
Victoria grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the eighth, when Connors, who is tied for 9th in the LBL in doubles with 10, hit a run-scoring double. His 10th double of the season put the Capitals out in front, 5-4.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Connors said.
