Montreal Royales starter Bruce Easton turned in an exceptional performance against the London Monarchs at Hatchets Ballpark, resulting in a Montreal win, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Easton, now 5-1. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Picking up the save was Vincent Casanova, his 8th.
Also having an impact was catcher Mike Ready, who stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth for Montreal. For the game, Ready went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles.
Ready called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The first-place Royales lifted their record to 29-16.
