The Trois-Rivieres Saints got a magnificent performance from pitcher Bill Hoffmann, who stifled the Saskatoon offense en route to a 3-1 Saints win at Blue Wings Ballpark. Hoffmann picked up the win for Trois-Rivieres, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. Trois-Rivieres is now 28-16.

Tied up with the Legends in the bottom of the fourth, the Saints got a boost from designated hitter Ray Pynn. With the bases loaded, Pynn saw a first pitch fastball from Pete Herrington and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Trois-Rivieres on top, 2-0.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Hoffmann said.
