Monarchs Take Tight Tilt
|
London Monarchs starter Jared Blackmore turned in a top-notch performance against the Calgary Outlaws at Hatchets Ballpark. The result was a win for the Monarchs, 3-2. London is third in the Lester B. Person League East Division with a record of 22-21.
Flexing his muscles for London was Derek Monnier. The left fielder had a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first for the Monarchs. It put his team ahead, 3-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Monnier went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We had a good game plan," Blackmore said, "and we were able to execute it."
