Victoria got a terrific game from center fielder John Huot. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Montreal, 8-5. Huot was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Victoria's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The Royales beat the Capitals in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Silas Lyons produced in the bottom of the fifth. Batting against Victoria pitcher Devin Madden, Lyons gave his team a 6-4 lead when he hit a 2-run double.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Lyons said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
