The Royales faced a stiff challenge from Calgary pitcher Tom Murchison, but persevered to claim a win at Corvettes Ballpark. The final score was 5-3. Murchison went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Vincent Casanova got the save, the 5th for him this season. Montreal's record now stands at 21-11, placing them second in the Lester B. Person League East Division.

In the top of the 8th, catcher Mike Ready gave Montreal the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Royales had been trailing 3-1, but the two-out home run off Calgary pitcher Jim Unknown changed that -- and Montreal went on to win.
