The Kelowna Heat wiggled past the Victoria Capitals, 7-6, at Brantford College Grounds. Kelowna center fielder Jim Unknown earned player of the game honors. Kelowna reliever Jim Unknown was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Craig Wyman took the loss for Victoria. Kelowna is first in the Lester B. Person League West Division with a record of 17-15.

When he came to bat in the bottom of the 11th, Harry Corbitt had a chance to end it. Victoria pitcher Craig Wyman had other ideas. But with two outs, Corbitt hit a walk-off run-scoring single. The Heat had the win.
