Outlaws Curb Heat, 6-5
|
Calgary shortstop Mark Johnston was instrumental in his team's 6-5 win over the Kelowna Heat. Johnston, who is tied for 2nd in the LBL in triples with 2, went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Outlaws. Calgary reliever Laurent Brisset picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jerry Cashman shouldered the loss. The Outlaws raised their record to 12-18.
Calgary took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Steve Peyre stroked a run-scoring single to make it 6-5, Outlaws.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Peyre.
