Monarchs Clip Royales in Tight Contest

Eliminators Ballpark was the site for Lester B. Person League action featuring the Montreal Royales and London Monarchs.
The London Monarchs faced a tough opponent in Montreal pitcher Norm Hall, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Eliminators Ballpark by a final score of 5-1. Hall went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. With the win, London has a record of 14-16. Montreal falls to 19-11.
Jim Unknown's at-bat with two out in the top of the eighth was critical. The London third baseman hit a run-scoring single, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Unknown told the London News. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
