The Montreal Royales downed the Victoria Capitals, 7-5, at Ballpark of Chilliwack College. The Royales were led by Chad Fox, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Earning his 4th save for Montreal was Vincent Casanova. The Royales bumped their record to 19-10 with this latest triumph.

A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the eighth inning when the Royales sent teenager Rick Blagdon to the plate against Capitals hurler Craig Wyman. With the bases loaded and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 1-1 cutter to score 1.

In comments to the Montreal News, Fox admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
