Blazers Lose to Tornadoes, 8-7
|
Kansas City beat Bloomington at Debris Field, escaping with a 8-7 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Matt Winters, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jake Nelson earned the win for Kansas City. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 6 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 1-1. Michael Burton picked up the save, his 1st.
George Bowman had a big hit for Kansas City in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Kansas City trailing 6-5, Bowman hit a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Tornadoes up, 7-6.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Winters.
The Tornadoes, with just their 2nd win in 7 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
