Jacks Lose to Bombers, 7-5
|
Fans of the South Carolina Bombers who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a South Carolina win over the visiting Jacksonville Jacks, 7-5. Tom O'Day started for the home team against Will Caron. José Liñares earned the coveted player of the game honors. South Carolina starter Tom O'Day was credited with the win after throwing 121 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Getting the save was Anupradana Agarkar, his 1st.
Also pitching in was South Carolina catcher Shannon Craft, who hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Craft went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Craft. "But I like how we're playing right now."
